One of my other activities is grime. Ever since I was little I loved to paint and really wanted to become a make-up artist. I asked “grime” from Sinterklaas and a book to practice it.
Ordinary children’s makeup really wasn’t good enough
Painting someone as a clown or princess was really not a challenge for me. The harder and the more challenging and terrifying the more I like it. Grime is an art just like painting on canvas, but on the body. Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to do the “cute” things, I just enjoy it more when it’s more challenging. You shouldn’t “hire” me to quickly paint someone’s face, I can’t do that, every child or adult has to be a work of art in itself. I don’t like to do half work. But sometimes things have to go fast and I know that.
I have not only finished many step photos, I also cannot post photos of colleagues and children who I painted at school here because of the privacy law. So I have some photos of myself and my family and also some photos where people are unrecognizable.
We start with cute

Just like me, my daughter loves painting, crafts, face painting, ….
And she prefers to do everything herself. But every now and then mom can paint her face in a super cute panther, for example.

Or a cheerful glitter butterfly

And she grew up to be a beautiful princess.
But the ‘cuteness’ disappeared at the stroke of 12 of HALLOWEEN

Zombies attacked our house and scared many grandparents. (I’ve had the pleasure of hearing it for a long time… hihihi)

But yes, it cannot be otherwise when your mother looks like this. Haha.
And while I was driving to the Halloween walk at work, I also saw more than one surprised and shocked face in the traffic jam. And then burst out laughing.
The best day ever.

Of course I also had to take care of some colleagues to make them Halloween worthy.

No more Paw Patrol, clowns or other things at carnival. No mom, I want to be a dragon. And not just any dragon. But Stormfly, Astrid’s dragon from the movie “How to train your dragon”. How do you start with that? With an image on the internet and a lot of imagination.

Luckily my son loves to be painted and pretty much falls asleep while I’m doing it.
He is a real connoisseur in that area. And fortunately because I think I spent more than half an hour on his make-up for Carnival this year.

So these are the works I can propose so far, next time I will try to pay attention to make a step-by-step plan, but who wants to know how I did it. Feel free to ask for an explanation 🙂 Oh and one last photo … of course my dragon didn’t always walk with its eyes closed 😉 .
