Mermaid galaxy nail art

First mill and file away the old layer of gel polish. If you start on your bare nail, be sure to file it as well so that you have a rough surface to work on. This will keep your gel polish on better and longer.

Cut your nails to the desired shape and file away the burrs and sharp corners.

Dust your nails and apply a coat of primer. This makes your gel polish adhere better.

For the base I use a peel-off base coat. I let it dry under the lamp for 30 seconds.

Don’t forget to clean the nails with isopropanol before continuing.

I used black as the base color, but you can just as easily use dark blue. Depends a bit on how dark you want your nails. Allow to dry under the lamp for 30 sec.

I apply 3 layers of Thermal glitter purple gel polish to the black color. Let each layer dry for 30 seconds under the lamp.

The third color is my Galaxy cateye gel which gives a beautiful galaxy effect using different magnets.

The last color is the stamp. I chose a white color because it looks great on the dark nail.

I finish with a top coat and let it dry for another 90 seconds under the lamp. Now you can also remove the remains of stamping polish from your fingers with nail polish remover.
