Today I finished the sleeping bag, which is one item less on the to-do list:

And learned something very important! Do not use cam snaps or color snaps in fleece! this will pull holes in your fabric. First strengthen your fleece by ironing in an extra layer of cotton or using stabilizer. Use jersey snaps.

  • baby sleeping bag (working on)
  • dress with bias and flock foil for my daughter
  • wrap blanket
  • crawling suit
  • full set for my daughter (A-line dress or tunic + pants + cardigan)

A few more photos of the finishing of the sleeping bag:

Putting on the first sleeve, more difficult than I thought…

After much cursing and frustration, I finally got the snaps in.

Turns out that color snaps are really not suitable for fleece unless with a lot of reinforcement.

Result holes pulled in the fabric, then covered with ironed interfacing and finally

jersey press studs used (but first I had to put one in the wrong place so I had to fiddle around again to get it loose. Frustrationeeee!!)

The sleeping bag completely finished, with stars that I cut from the fabric of the crib cover and stitched on.

It may not be stitched together straight everywhere, but all in all a nice result I think for a first time.

Until the next post 🙂
