In addition to embroidering on clothing, fabric, blankets and yes even wood, you can also make free standing lace. That’s lace on the embroidery machine. I use my brother innov’is 955 for this.
What do you need for this?
- water-soluble reinforcement (Soluvlies) preferably as firm as possible or several layers.
- Your top and bobbin thread in the correct color (as you will)
- Embroidery hoop
- textile and embroidery scissors
- tray with lukewarm water
- tweezers _CDL_MASK_22__

First cut your Soluvlies larger than your ring, I cut 2 pieces.
_CDL_MASK_46__Stretch your sol fleece into the ring as hard as possible, it should certainly not wrinkle or bulge. You have to be able to drum on it, so to speak.

Click your ring into your embroidery machine and thread the correct color of embroidery thread.
_CDL_MASK_68__Select your embroidery motif, for me it is on the USB stick so I click on USB. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the motif you want to embroider.

Select your motif by clicking on it.

Then click extract. that’s the button next to +10. Your motif will then be loaded.

To edit your design, click the bottom button twice.

Now you are in the screen to edit your motif, I have not changed anything, but as I said before here you can enlarge, reduce, rotate, mirror, move, choose where your needle is to start.

By pressing the back button twice you will return to the correct screen to start embroidering.

Put your presser foot down, you will see the light turn green, press the green button and the machine will start. By pressing the green button again you can pause the machine, suppose something goes wrong.

Once the motif is there, raise the presser foot, remove the embroidery hoop from the machine and remove the sol fleece from the hoop.

You will see this nice message when your embroidery is finished. Just press OK to close it.

Carefully cut the snowflake from the sol fleece with fine (embroidery) scissors.
Be careful not to cut the stitching.

Carefully place the flake in the container with lukewarm water and wiggle it a little so that everything dissolves nicely.

Carefully remove the snowflake from the bowl of water and place on some kitchen paper, gently press dry and flat so that the excess water is gone. Lay the snowflake out to dry and READY.
